LIFE GROUPS & Spiritual growth

Water's Edge encourages people to spend time together for spiritual growth in community. Some groups are just few people catching up over coffee, while others are small groups that gather for dinner, Bible study and prayer. To join a group or study, contact Melinda Ige.

What's it like to be in a life group or triad?

Volunteers serve each Sunday to prepare a welcoming space for worship and fellowship.  Connect with others as part of a team:

Hospitality Teams:

Greeters/Welcome Table/Ushers Teams of 4-6 welcome people as they enter for worship and assist people in getting connected at Water's Edge. What a great way to meet people!

Set Up/Take Down  Help transport equipment, set up chairs, tables and signs.  After worship stray papers and pens in the worship center and recycle, take down signs, load equipment.

Audio/Visual Team:

Run slides, videos and/or lighting. AV Team members rotate serving about once a month. No experience necessary. Training provided.

Take turns with other to pick up donuts or provide other baked good and snacks for Coffee Hour.

CHildren's Ministry

We want the habits created in a child’s most formative years to be carried on into adulthood, and believe that children attending church with their families is an important aspect to this. Children ages 3 and up go to the Worship Center with their parents for the initial part of the worship service. (Nursery care is provided by children 0-35 months)  After the children’s sermon, children go with their teachers to their classrooms for Sunday School. After the service, parents pick up their child(ren) at their classroom, matching the number on their child's name-tag with theirs.

Children's Ministry also creates events designed specifically for families. And many Water's Edge actiities are designed so that children are easily included. Keep an eyeout for announcements of opportunities throughout the year. For more information on volunteering in Children's' Ministry, please visit the CM page, and contact our Children's Ministry Assistant, Karen Palacios to begin the application process.

Living on Mission

Living on Mission means...

     • Developing as Christ-followers pursuing full devotion to God

     • Raising the priority of reaching out to those who are far from God

     • Offering tangible expressions of compassion into our city and

through strategic partnerships to the world

...individually, as part of a small group, and as a church.

We encourage one another to be involved in the community through volunteering with non-profit organizations and other charitable causes they believe in.  Some serve individually or invite life group and other friends to join them. Water's Edge partners with other churches and groups such as:

                          The Compton Initiative

Global Mobility          LAMA

Royal Family KIDS            Treasures             ZOE International
